The Voice – Carla eliminated in cross battles: “I had no desire to fall against Manuela”

INTERVIEW

Competition is intensifying in The Voice. This Saturday evening, the talents of the thirteenth season competed against each other during the second and final session of the cross battles, a crucial stage of the competition allowing access to the super cross battles. Vianney and his two coach friends Bigflo and Oli challenged each other several times through the candidates on their team. One of their cross battles particularly struck viewers: the one between Manuela and Carla. The two young women, aged 17 and 19 respectively, gave everything to convince the public. Carla, stolen talent from the Vianney team, sent shivers down the set of the Lendit studio with her cover of a Zaz hit, Dazzled for the night. Unfortunately, the accuracy of her performance was not enough to save her against Manuela, the big favorite this season. The 19-year-old young woman tells us she has no regrets. Interview.

How do you feel after your defeat in cross battles?

Contrary to what one might think, I am not disappointed. This adventure is so unique and precious that it is impossible to feel disappointed after an elimination. After my performance, I was very happy. I finished singing and said to myself: “I did what I could, I gave everything!” I remember every moment I spent on stage during this song and it was magical.

You have no regrets?

None ! Obviously, I would have liked to want to sing more but the music doesn’t stop after that The Voice. It’s the start of something new.

After your performance, your coach Vianney told you to continue to believe in yourself… Are you able to do it?

Not a day goes by without me thinking about what Vianney said to me. I carry it with me every day while working and writing.

What did you say to yourself when you found out that you were going to sing opposite Manuela? ?

I had no desire to fall against her because she is very strong and she also gave a magnificent performance. But I was also relieved not to have fallen against a talent from Mika’s team, to which I belonged at the start of the adventure! I had a great time with these people so competing with them was out of the question. I told Vianney that (Laughs).

You changed coaches along the way. Who did you prefer to work with, Mika or Vianney?

What a difficult question! They are two very different artists but they have one thing in common: honesty. And that’s what I loved about them! I need to be told what’s okay and what’s not. They both gave me this. The coaching with Vianney was more focused on me because we are alone with him before the cross battles, which is not the case before the battles. My performance would in any case have been very different if I had not had his advice.

What did he tell you?

Vianney told me the story of the song Dazzled by the night, which is particularly dark. It totally changed the way I approached my performance because I understood the seriousness of the lyrics. But Vianney still told me to make it my own, to sing it like Carla.

Who do you think could win? The Voice ?

The level is so high this year! But I am impressed by Lise, a talent from Zazie’s team. He’s someone who touches me a lot, I love his voice and his world. I also think of Clément Massy, who spreads his wings at each stage but also Odem who works enormously.

You are a singer but also an actress. We have seen you in several series, notably More beautiful life. How do you see your professional future?

For now, I want to devote myself to music. I’m writing my first EP, I’ll finalize it this summer. Acting is not my priority currently even though I loved having these acting experiences. I was surrounded by great people, both on the set of More beautiful life than on that of The trainee with Michèle Bernier. I wouldn’t say no if a great opportunity presents itself but I really want to grow as a singer!
