ChatGPT Voice is now available for free to all users

Last September, OpenAI launched a new “voice” version of ChatGPT, with the Voice version.

Finally, she will in turn transmit an oral response. Unfortunately, this feature was reserved for ChatGPT Plus subscribers, the paid version of the program. It is now accessible to everyone!

ChatGPT Voice now available to everyone

Indeed, the ChatGPT Voice functionality is now available to all users of the program. As has been the case until now, the ChatGPT Voice feature offers the choice of five different user-defined voices, with male and female voices.

The functionality is being rolled out to all users who have installed the mobile application on their smartphone. Note that some indicate that they had to delete the application, before redownloading it from the AppStore or the Play Store, in order to benefit from the update.

ChatGPT Voice, how does it work?

Like a Google Assistant or an Apple Siri, ChatGPT Voice works like a voice assistant. The latter is able to understand the words spoken by the user, before offering answers that are both logical and perfectly adapted to the context, in the same way as the written variation.

Remember that this Voice functionality is only available within the ChatGPT application, and is activated by clicking on the headset icon at the bottom of the screen. From then on, you can converse with the AI ​​without having to touch the screen, and the system will automatically detect the language spoken. The application is also responsible for recording the voice transcription of the exchanges.
