In recent months, artificial intelligence has transformed the way we work, giving almost anyone the ability to write code, create art, and even make financial investments. For business users, generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, have capabilities to create great content from a simple (prompt) user request.
With Microsoft adding GPT-4 to Bing, OpenAI adding Bing to ChatGPT, and Bard discovering PaLM 2, keeping up to date with the latest AI tools can be confusing to say the least. It’s hard to know which of the three AI chatbots is best for writing code, generating text, or helping with resumes. We will therefore analyze the main differences so that you can choose the one that meets your needs.
Test ChatGPT vs Bing Chat vs Google Bard
To determine which AI chatbot gives the most accurate answers, I’ll use a simple question to compare the three:
“I have 5 oranges today, I ate 3 last week. How many oranges do I have left?”

1. You want to try the most popular AI chatbot
ChatGPT was created by OpenAI and launched in preview in November last year. Since then, the AI chatbot has gained more than 100 million users, with the website alone receiving 1.8 billion visitors per month. He has been at the center of controversy, particularly for doing schoolwork and replacing some employees.

I tested ChatGPT regularly since its release. Its user interface has been kept simple, but minor changes have greatly improved it, such as the addition of a copy button and easy access to your account.
Although ChatGPT has proven itself as an AI tool, it can be prone to misinformation. Like other large language models (LLMs), GPT-3.5 is flawed because it’s trained on man-made data up to 2021. It often fails to understand nuances, like in our example math question, which he answered incorrectly by saying we had two oranges left when there were five left.
2. You’re willing to pay extra for an upgrade
OpenAI allows users to access ChatGPT – based on the GPT-3.5 model – for free with a registered account. But if you’re willing to pay for the Plus version, you can access GPT-4 for $20 per month.
GPT-4 is the largest LLM available for use compared to all other AI chatbots. GPT-4 has over 100 trillion parameters; GPT-3.5 has 175 billion. More parameters means that the model is trained on more data, which makes it better able to answer questions correctly.

Unlike ChatGPT, which is limited to being an AI tool that generates text in a conversational style with information leading up to 2021, Bing now has a chat option that formats search results as a conversation with a chatbot from AI.
There are also other advantages. Bing Chat is powered by GPT-4, OpenAI’s largest language model, and it’s completely free to use.

Bing Chat’s user interface isn’t as simple as ChatGPT’s, but it’s easy to navigate.

2. You prefer more visual features
Through a series of recent updates, Microsoft has added visual features to Bing Chat that ChatGPT and Google Bard lack. Right now, you can ask Bing questions like “What is a galago?” and get an information sheet in response with photos, lifespan, diet, and more.

Bing Chat also offers different conversation styles when interacting with the chatbot, including Creative, Balanced, and Precise, which change the lightness or simplicity of interactions.
Finally, let’s move on to Google Bard, which uses a different LLM and will be getting some major updates soon.

1. You want a fast and unlimited experience
When I tested different AI chatbots, I found that Google Bard was often criticized for its various shortcomings. I won’t say that these criticisms are unjustified, but I will say that Google’s AI chatbot has its advantages, one of which is speed.
Google Bard is quick in its responses, although it does occasionally get it wrong. It’s not faster than ChatGPT Plus, but it may be faster in responding than Bing and the free GPT-3.5 version of ChatGPT.

Initially, Bard seemed to want to answer our math question correctly. But he made the same mistake as the other robots, adding the formula 5 – 3 = 2.
Bard is also not limited to a set number of responses, like Bing Chat is. You can have long conversations with Google Bard, but Bing is limited to 20 replies per conversation. Even ChatGPT Plus limits users to 25 messages every three hours.
2. You want a more “Google” experience
Google announced many AI updates at its I/O conference, including how it plans to improve Bard and its search engine. Bard is upgrading to PaLM 2, the latest and greatest version of Google’s LLM, which was announced at the event.
PaLM 2 will allow Bard to support over 100 languages eventually and significantly improve his coding, debugging and math skills. Currently, ChatGPT is said to support more than 80 languages.
Google also plans to integrate more visual elements into its Bard platform than are available on Bing chat. Users will soon have the ability to upload photos through integration with Google Lens, generate images through Adobe Firefly, plus Kayak, OpenTable, Instacart, and Wolfram Alpha plugins.
Although these changes are not yet in effect, Google plans to implement them over the next few months.
