American cheesecake as a waffle variation? Sounds almost too delicious to be true! And yet we make it possible with this recipe.

We’ve never run into the kitchen so quickly to get our waffle iron out of the cupboard. The reason: cheesecake waffles, which are on our plates in no time thanks to the changed basic recipe. Mmmm, delicious!

Cheesecake waffles: Helpful tips for our favorite pastries

1. Properly preheat the waffle iron

Do you often have the problem that your waffles stick to the waffle iron? No problem, because in addition to greasing with butter or oil, there is another trick how the golden-brown waffles end up perfectly on your plate. In order for this to succeed, the waffle iron should be switched on when the dough is being made and set to the highest level – this is how the waffle iron gets up to temperature. Before filling, we set the heat level back to medium so that the waffles don’t burn while baking.

2. Do not stack waffle

It is best, of course, if the waffles are served fresh and enjoyed immediately. But often this is not possible due to the lack of time. To ensure that the waffles still taste fresh from the waffle iron, the finished waffles should not be stacked on top of each other, but placed next to each other – this allows the hot steam to escape and the waffles do not become sticky.

Ingredient List: What you need

  • 450 g cream cheese
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 150 grams of flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 tsp liquid vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • butter or oil for greasing
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Ready in no time: This is how the waffle batter is prepared

  1. Place cream cheese, vanilla extract, lemon juice, sugar and eggs in a bowl and mix with a whisk to form a smooth batter.
  2. Switch on the waffle iron and set it to the highest level so that it can preheat sufficiently.
  3. Meanwhile, place the salt, baking powder, and flour in another bowl and mix together.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the batter and stir. Repeat this step until fully incorporated into batter and batter is smooth in consistency.
  5. Now bring the preheated waffle iron back to medium temperature and grease it with butter or oil.
  6. Now let’s start with the filling: we recommend two to three tablespoons of batter per waffle. You can also use a small trowel if you like.
  7. Wait a moment for the batter to spread out in the waffle pan. Then close the lid and let the batter bake in the waffle iron for about five minutes.
  8. After the five minutes, remove the waffle from the waffle iron using a fork or spatula and place on a plate.
  9. If you like, the waffle can now be dusted with a little powdered sugar and et voilà – the cheesecake waffle is ready.
  10. Now just serve and enjoy!
