This Monday, April 25, M6 kicks off its new show, Chefs à domicile. Over the weeks, Norbert Tarayre will face different leaders. But could he choose them? He answers us.
Norbert Tarayre is a man of challenges. Since participating in the third season of Top chef – won by Jean Imbert -, the cook never misses an opportunity to take up challenges each crazier than the next through his shows. In Chefs at homethere is no exception to the rule. From this Monday, April 25, M6 kicks off a new culinary competition broadcast in access-prime-time, i.e. 6:40 p.m. For four weeks, Norbert Tarayre will face four chefs who have also passed through the prestigious M6 culinary competition: Pierre Augé, Noëmie Honiat, Merouan Bounekraf and Mohamed Cheikh. For an hour and a half, one of them will face Norbert Tarayre, chef-host of this competition.
Their mission: to cook “blind” dishes for customers they know nothing about. It is as their preparations progress that the chefs will discover the desires of the moment as well as the tastes (or dislikes) of those who will taste and judge their dishes. But Was Norbert Tarayre able to choose the leaders he faces? Nay. “It’s like in Top Chef, there is no privilege“replied the main interested party at a press conference. And the least we can say is that this exercise gave him a hard time.”I havei wanted to do Home Chefs to put myself in danger and at the first test, I shit myself on it. I am asked the question to stop or continue the program“, he confided to us. It must be said that he faced experienced chefs who impressed him both with their creativity and their technicality.
How were Pierre, Noëmie, Merouan and Mohamed chosen?
Yes “it was not a prerequisite“to oppose Norbert Tarayre only to former Top chefMatthieu Bayle, the producer of Chefs at home recognizes that it was ultimately easier for everyone. The production was indeed looking for “familiar faces“for viewers, chefs”confirmed” and able to adapt to the slightest change “because the exercise is difficult“as well as people who”are used to television“.”It saved us time because they know how to verbalize what they do and have the energy to do it.“, estimates Matthieu Bayle. In thirteen seasons of Top chefso they have a talent pool available for the next bursts of Chefs at home.
