Chelles: he recognizes a BAC agent and rushes at him in the car

A police officer from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) was violently hit by a car on Monday in Chelles (Seine-et-Marne), while crossing a street. The driver allegedly acted voluntarily.

The agent was in action. With colleagues, he had just called a person and was about to cross an avenue. A Peugeot 208 then stopped to let the group pass, then suddenly started again.

The policeman was violently rammed, hit the bonnet and then fell to the ground. Taken to the hospital, he has so far received five days of ITT, hit in the back and knee. Examinations were carried out, in suspicion of a more serious injury.

While the motorist had fled, another BAC crew, alerted by radio, managed to locate him and then arrest him. In police custody, the 21-year-old driver indicated that he “would have recognized the policeman and decided to rush him”, informed a source familiar with the matter to Actu17.

Yet unknown to the police until now, he is now being prosecuted for attempted homicide on a person holding public authority. An investigation has been opened.
