Four people, including three (English nationals of Iraqi origin) from the same family, were found shot dead on a forest road in Chevaline in Haute-Savoie on September 5, 2012. More than nine years after the events, a man was killed. in custody since Wednesday morning. If it’s just a matter of checking your schedule, the investigation may well be restarted.
A man has been questioned by the gendarmes of the Chambéry research section since 8 am Wednesday morning. A rebound in the so-called “killing of Chevaline” case, more than nine years after the events. In 2012, four people including three from the same family were found shot dead on a forest road in the alpine village of Chevaline in Haute-Savoie.
Check the suspect’s schedule
A new act of inquiry made at the request of the Annecy investigating judge in charge of this case. This is essentially, according to information from Europe 1, to check the schedule of this man. A search is also underway at his home.
At this stage, nothing has leaked on his profile, but we know that last September, a reconstitution operation in the Chevaline sector had been ordered, what we call in police jargon timing is i.e., for example, measuring the transport time from point A to point B.
Many avenues are still being studied
Several examining magistrates followed one another. A new public prosecutor arrived in Annecy last September, which, most certainly, facilitated the re-reading of the file. This custody is therefore part of this verification concern. Investigators are trying to see if they have missed something that could put them on the trail of the killer.
Since the beginning of the affair, many avenues have been studied, more or less eccentric: contract murder, itinerant murderer, local killer or even settling of scores between intelligence services. But nothing, so far, has worked.
