Chevron sells its Indonesian assets to Eni

(CercleFinance.com) – Eni announces the acquisition of Chevron’s assets in Indonesia, including the takeover of Chevron’s 62% stakes in the Ganal PSC and Rapak PSC blocks, as well as Chevron’s 72% in Makassar Straits PSC.

As a reminder, Eni already holds a 20% stake as a non-operator in the Ganal and Rapak blocks.

This operation should also allow Eni to accelerate the development of the IDD (Indonesia Deepwater Development) project, whose natural gas reserves are estimated at around 2TCF (2 trillion cubic feet, or around 55.8 billion m3).

This operation follows the recent agreement for the acquisition of Neptune Energy by Eni and offers an excellent complementarity with Eni’s operations in East Kalimantan.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
