Security officers at Miami International Airport discovered a snake last week – not just anywhere, but in a traveler’s pants. The unusual cargo was hidden in a small bag that loudly APNews was hidden in the passenger’s pants.
Snake discovered in pants
An X-ray check revealed the unusual discovery. Transportation Administration (TSA) security officers seized the reptile cargo and turned it over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, APNews said.
A published post by security personnel even included a photo of the two small snakes that were found carefully hidden in a bag. At first impressions the bag appeared to be for sunglasses, but upon closer inspection it turned out to be a transport container for the two reptiles.
Animal smugglers are not uncommon
It remains unclear why the passenger decided to transport the snakes this way and what purpose he had in doing so. Authorities have not released any further information about this.
Just two months ago, officials in Miami made a similar discovery. They discovered several exotic animals in the luggage of six men. Among them was a red panda and several monkeys.
