Chicago Fire returned to the air in the United States this Wednesday, January 17, 2024 with the launch of its season 12. In these new parts, the character of Lieutenant Kelly Severide and her interpreter Taylor Kinney are officially back on a recurring basis in the plots.

Andrea Newman, the showrunner of fiction, spoke with our sisters and brothers from the specialized US media The Hollywood Reporter and this has just made some revelations about Severide’s future.
“Fires are like a drug to Severide”
She announces: “The challenge will be for Severide to regain the confidence he lost by mismanaging certain fire cases. Kidd [Miranda Rae Mayo, ndlr] sees that fires are like a drug for him, and he himself is aware of it.“
“Severide is caught in a spiral and he has so much to sort out regarding his father, with whom he had a difficult relationship, and the latter’s relationship with the fires as well.analyzes Andrea Newman. Is he falling into a worrying dynamic? Is he becoming like his father no matter what he does?“
“He needs to refocus and make sure he regains the trust of Kidd and Cruz [Joe Minoso, ndlr]. But he also wants to keep the fires in his life. The fires are haunting for him”, concludes the showrunner.
