Thursday 23 December, Christophe Willem gave an interview to Cine TV Review on the occasion of his entry into the jury of The Voice Belgium. The singer spoke of his family situation and answered a question about his desires for fatherhood.
15 years after being revealed for his crazy voice singing skills in The New Star, Christophe Willem is about to pass to the other side of the table. At 38, he agreed to become member of the jury for the next season of The voice with our Belgian neighbors, which begins on December 28th.
What to return to the front of the stage after a period of hollow in his career and somewhat grotesque images like his huge flop at the Jazz Victories in 2019. If his professional career is about to see a new line being written , Christophe Willem has decided to open up a little about his love life.
“I have a side too fiery to start a family“
The singer rarely mentioned this part of his life, even leaving suspense when he answered questions about his sexual orientation: “The girl or boy question does not arise for me. We want to put people in boxes. Maybe I’ll give you all the cards for you to put me in one while I’m in the next one. Or the opposite. I like to avoid the obligatory answer ” he explained in 2009 in The Parisian, before evoking a few years later a “bisexuality“perfectly assumed. One thing is certain, however: children, very little for him.
In an interview with Cine TV Review, Christophe Willem rules out the possibility of paternity: “So, not at all ! I have nephews, nieces, and that suits me very well. Children impose stability, I have a huge need for freedom. If I want to go to the other side of the world, I want to be able to do it. I have a side too fiery to start a family“, he explained. In addition to nephews and nieces, Christophe Willem should soon have some small charges in The Voice.
