“Children’s” chocolate products – Ferrero is also recalling surprise eggs in Switzerland – News

  • As a precaution, the Italian confectionery group Ferrero is recalling numerous of its “children’s” products in Switzerland following a series of internationally reported cases of salmonella.
  • This also includes the surprise eggs and chocolate bons.
  • In cooperation with the responsible cantonal enforcement authority, Ferrero Switzerland is recalling almost 40 products due to possible contamination, the Federal Office for Consumer Affairs (BFK) announced.

Ferrero is taking the action even though none of the children’s products on the market have tested positive for salmonella, the company wrote. Consumers are advised not to consume the purchased products and to contact the Ferrero Consumer Protection Team.

Major distributors already reacted yesterday

Various Swiss retailers had already cleared Ferrero’s “children’s” products from their shelves. Among them are the major distributors Coop, Migros, Volg and Aldi, as they confirmed to Keystone-SDA.

The background is the 63 salmonella infections in Great Britain and 21 in France. 15 of the French infected said they had eaten the affected “children” products, the authorities said.
