You have no flour in the house? No problem! We bake a moist chocolate cake without flour – and it’s on the table in just an hour!

Chocolate cake without flour: the ingredients

  • 300 g dark chocolate (alternatively: 150 g dark and 150 g milk chocolate)
  • 150 grams of butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 1 P. vanilla sugar
  • 300 g ground almonds
  • 1 cup baking powder
  • Margarine for greasing the form
  • Powdered sugar or cocoa powder for dusting

Preparation: Chocolate cake without flour

  1. Roughly chop the chocolate and melt over a water bath (or in a saucepan over low heat). Add the butter and melt it too.
  2. Put the eggs in a bowl and beat them together with the sugar and vanilla sugar for a few minutes until fluffy.
  3. Mix the ground almonds with the baking powder. Then add it to the egg and sugar mixture together with the chocolate butter and mix everything to form a smooth dough.
  4. Line the bottom of a springform pan (Ø24 cm) with baking paper and grease the edge. Fill in the dough for the chocolate cake without flour, smooth it out and bake in the oven at 180 °C top/bottom heat for approx. 40 minutes. You can use the chopstick test to test whether the cake is done.
  5. When the chocolate cake is ready, you should let it cool down a bit. Then you can remove it from the mold, dust with icing sugar or cocoa powder as you like and serve.
