Irish singer Chris de Burgh celebrates his 75th birthday. He has a lot planned for his special day today.
Chris de Burgh is a singer, world star and now 75 years old. The Irishman is celebrating his milestone today, October 15th, in a very special way. While others of this age enjoy coffee and cake, de Burgh is drawn to the skies.
In the morning, Chris de Burgh is celebrating his birthday in a sporty way, as he explains in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper. He will “first go swimming in the sea” because that will keep him fit. We continue on an exciting excursion. “A friend offers me the opportunity to ride in a hot air balloon,” says the 75-year-old.
He’s never done that before, but after that “it gets even crazier,” de Burgh announces. “I’m going to do a tandem balloon skydive. I just hope the weather cooperates.”
No end in sight
Apparently Chris de Burgh doesn’t just keep fit so that he can experience such things in old age. “Pension? I have no idea what that word even means,” he says. Fans of the “Lady in Red” singer can be sure that he is not planning to say goodbye to the stages of this world for a long time.
Big things are already planned for the coming year. It will then be 50 years since his debut album “Far Beyond These Castle Walls” was released. In the interview he says that there are numerous performances and new music coming up for 2024: “Then I will go on a big European tour and maybe also to North America. There will also be a best-of album with a few new songs.”
