Christin Stark and Matthias Reim became parents in the spring. Her daughter is “the greatest gift,” says Stark in an interview.
Christin Stark (32) became a mother in the spring. The singer and pop star Matthias Reim (64) was happy about the birth of her daughter Zoe. As busy artists, the lives of the two have changed fundamentally. How does Christin Stark juggle everything as a mother and singer? “If you love what you do, you will find a way,” the 32-year-old replies in an interview with spot on news. “My daughter Zoe is the greatest gift on earth for me.”
However, she also “loves” “to live all facets of an artist”. Stark’s midwife always says “Happy mama, happy baby!” That’s why daughter Zoe will accompany the pop singer on her upcoming “Rock my Heart” club tour. “I’m a mother. When I travel, I still want to look at her smiling face after a performance or concert in the morning,” says Stark. “I’m not only responsible for myself anymore, but also for her, so the following applies to me: As long as she’s fine with everything, she will accompany me.” The tour will take the 32-year-old across Germany in October. “Presenting my songs with my own band for almost two hours is a dream come true!” says Stark. She is “really looking forward to it”.
In the final stages of pregnancy, singing was “almost impossible” for Christin Stark
After the birth, Christin Stark started again as a singer. That probably wouldn’t have worked out at the end of her pregnancy: “In the final phase of my pregnancy, singing was almost impossible for me,” she reveals. “Too much ball weight” hit her breathing. “Nevertheless, I enjoyed every moment. It’s magical when life grows in you. Now I have strength again and can creatively express my full vocal volume,” says Stark.
Before her tour, Christin Stark will release her new album “Damn STARK! The best of CHRISTIN”. The song highlights from the past six years can be heard on the long player, which will be released on August 26th. The album title not only fits the singer’s life perfectly because of her last name: “For me, ‘being strong’ means, among other things, making the best of every crisis, gaining experience and going your own way,” explains the 32-year-old . “I have many songs that sometimes highlight critical situations, but no song ends with me without hope. That’s exactly my attitude to life. Positively straight forward!”
Afternoon nap with daughter Zoe is “the best short vacation”
With this attitude, Stark also faces the 20 kilograms that she has gained through pregnancy. “Health is important to me,” she says. “Whether there are still two or three kilos left, who cares?” As a thoroughbred musician and new mother, Christin Stark has little time for herself. But she also takes it easy: “I sleep when my daughter sleeps. A nap in the afternoon with her is the best short vacation for me.”
Will there still be a longer break just for the family in the near future? “Christmas is coming soon, then we’ll have family prime time again,” answers Stark. Zoe is Matthias Reim’s and the singer’s first child together. The little one grows up in a large family: the 64-year-old has six other children. “We’re always there for each other!” raves Stark. “It’s great to see how loving and protected Zoe can grow up.”
Reim and Stark got married in April 2020 after eight years together. Daughter Zoe is now completing her happiness in love – and is already reacting to her parents’ music. “She listens intently,” says Christin Stark. “It’s so magical when Matthias and I sing something to her together.”
