Christina Applegate made her MS diagnosis public. The actress is now reaching a surge of support.

US actress Christina Applegate (49, “A terribly nice family”) suffers from multiple sclerosis (MS). She writes on Twitter on Tuesday (August 10th): “Hi friends. I was diagnosed with MS a few months ago. It’s been a strange journey.” She has received so much support from people she knows who also suffered from the disease, Applegate explains. “It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road goes on and on. Unless some asshole blocks it.” In another tweet, the actress is now asking for privacy. For her frank words about her diagnosis, Applegate has received a lot of approval, not only from her fans, but also from colleagues and her employer.

“Super sweet and super sexy” co-star and friend Selma Blair (49), who keeps talking openly about her own MS illness, commented on Applegate’s tweet: “I love you and am always there for you. Just like our children. They give us strength with their love.” Jamie Lee Curtis (62) also addressed encouraging words to her colleague and wrote among other things: “My hand in yours.”

Fellow actor Josh Gad (40) tweets: “I know of no stronger and more courageous person than Christina Applegate. Her diagnosis will not determine her and she will overcome every obstacle that is placed in her way. I ask everyone to send a lot of love and positivity to my friend.” Colleague Patricia Arquette (53) sends Applegate in a tweet “Love” at this difficult time.

“Dead to Me” production paused

Applegate’s employers Netflix and CBS Studios have in a joint statement for the “Hollywood Reporter” showed her support for the actress: “We love and support Christina and respect her privacy if she takes the time and space that she needs at this moment.” Applegate is the star of the series “Dead to Me”. The production of the third season is paused indefinitely.
