Christoph Daum continues to fight cancer. In a “Bild” interview he explained how he is currently feeling.

Football coach Christoph Daum (69) has already undergone 22 rounds of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer. He’s doing quite well so far, the 69-year-old explained in an interview with “Bild”. “The therapies have a positive effect, the cancer cells shrink slightly.”

But he was not cured of the cancer, Daum continued. “Our goal was to turn an acute condition into a chronic one, to control the disease. I hope there can be more.” In autumn 2022, Christoph Daum made his cancer public on social media. He received the diagnosis “as part of a routine examination,” he wrote alongside a photo of himself and his doctor, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wolf, on Instagram. He has been receiving treatment since then and the therapy was “working very well” for him, Daum explained at the time.

That’s why Christoph Daum was in the intensive care unit in the USA

In May it became known that Christoph Daum had to be treated in an intensive care unit at a US hospital. “The doctors gave me the okay to visit my son in the USA. Dandelion! I got pneumonia and almost fell into a coma,” he told “Bild”.

Documentary for Daum’s 70th birthday

Christoph Daum celebrates his 70th birthday on October 24th. On this occasion, Sky is dedicating the documentary “Daum – Triumphs & Scandals” (October 27) to him. In it, Daum meets old companions such as Matthias Sammer (56), Reiner “Calli” Calmund (74) and Rudi Völler (63), but also his former opponent Uli Hoeneß (71). Both buried their hatchets a long time ago and learned to value each other as people. Daum said in the “Bild” interview: “We treat each other with respect and have both learned a lot. He told me: Only two great personalities can fight each other like that. This sentence touched me very much.”
