THE Google Chrome browser is used by approximately 63% of people in the world, according to figures from the Statcounter site. The reasons for this success are multiple, but we can already cite the updates regular ones that add new features. Not those done urgently to correct a critical security vulnerability. Rather those which, for example, allow us to personalize the browser as we wish, or which offer to write messages for us on any sites.

Sometimes, like here, it’s just about make navigation more pleasant by strengthening existing functionalities. This is the case of Security controlewhich you can launch from the Chrome Settings in order to check if your saved passwords have not been compromised For example. From now on, it will run constantly to become more proactive.

If theone of your extensions is questionableif the browser is not up to date or if a site asks for suspicious permissionsyou will receive a notification to examine in order to act. The Security Check will also remove permissions itself (access to microphone, camera, etc.) granted to sites that you have not visited for a long time.

Chrome updates to improve its performance and your security

Another improvement concerns theMemory saver, introduced last year. Activable in the tab Performance of the Settings of Chrome, it allows you to put unused tabs to sleep to relieve RAM. In order to know precisely what you earn, you can now hover over a tab and see how much memory it takes up. Useful to know if it is useful to “put him to sleep” or not. Memory saver must be activated beforehand for this.

Finally, Google announces the possibility of save tab groups. By logging into your Google account from another machine, you will be able to find them. This synchronization of tab groups was seen on the beta version of Chrome. The various new features mentioned here are being deployed as we write these lines.
