You can currently only get the Asus Chromebook CX17 from a few retailers. At the dealers where you get it, it costs at least 399 euros. Only Amazon offers it and much cheaper. So you only pay 259 euros on Prime Day. The saving is 140 euros – about 35 percent.

Asus Chromebook CX17: Technical data at a glance

The Asus Chromebook CX17 scores particularly well with the high screen resolution in HD (1,600 x 1,900 pixels) and with a powerful processor, the Intel Celeron N4020. It is equipped with 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 GB of storage for your apps, games, files and other content. Bluetooth and WLAN are of course also integrated.

Only the front webcam is pretty poor with a resolution of 2 megapixels, but it at least serves its purpose. More impressive are the 12 hours of battery life, which is not a given for such a small Chromebook. Thanks to the low-reflection IPS level display, you don’t have to be afraid of strong reflections on the screen even when used outdoors.

Is the Chromebook worth the price?

For a notebook in this price range, the Asus Chromebook performs surprisingly well in many areas. If you take the Prime Day price as a benchmark, this is all the more true. The Asus Chromebook CX17 is ideal for working in particular, but also for a short entertainment break in between.

Just keep in mind that the device does not have an optical drive for CDs. If you depend on it, the offer is not for you. For gaming, too, you should rather rely on an even more powerful notebook, better still on a complete PC. Everyone else will find a comparatively well-equipped Chromebook here at a particularly low price.
