Although we’re a long way from the Pixelbook now, Google is making headlines with new laptop information. A new program called “Chromebook X”, would be the beachhead for high-end Chromebooks.
For years, Chromebooks were known primarily as entry-level computers, used a lot by students and those just looking to access the most basic features of a laptop: portability, productivity apps, and browsing. on the Web.
But since then, Chromebooks have improved their performance, allowing them to be more efficient in multitasking mode, paving the way for high-end Chromebooks.
Support for 16 virtual desktops
According to 9to5Google, the Chromebook X will set high-end Chromebooks apart from the pack thanks to an exclusive set of specifics, only some of which are known.
It is assumed that Google will require a certain amount of RAM, a high-end display on the laptop, and a high-quality camera for video calls. In ChromeOS, Google will incorporate Live Caption into video calls and a built-in portrait blur effect, as well as voice isolation during video calls.
As for processors, Google is reportedly already readying the Chromebook X line of laptops to include AMD Zen 2+, AMD Zen 3, and 12th Gen Intel Core processors, including the latter’s N-series chips.
The Chromebook X will also feature “Time of Day” wallpapers and screensavers that change appearance throughout the day, as well as support for 16 virtual desktops, pinning of files from Google Drive to make them available offline.
Devices under the Chromebook X umbrella could launch as early as the end of this year, according to 9to5Google.
