A brand new ChromeOS update is on the horizon, and with it a more modern interface and more intuitive use.

The proprietary operating system developed by Google since 2009 is evolving and improving. Its future update is coming soon and will benefit from a redesign typed Material You, thus bringing a set of new improvements and new features. ChromeOS should then be much more pleasant to use and will offer more advanced customization options.

A refreshed interface with Material You sauce

Material You is a design approach that gives users greater freedom to customize their interfaces on their different devices. In fact, this translates into ergonomics that are more suited to the use of each person and more coherent overall. The future ChromeOS update will thus integrate elements of Google’s latest visual design language into the settings menu, Material Design 3. This will result in a more pleasant and modern appearance.

The design was not the only aspect that Google wanted to take care of. Rather practical features will appear: a new Google Tasks widget will be integrated directly into the OS, easier control of mouse settings (scrolling speed, acceleration) and improved functions for touch users. ChromeOS should logically integrate a new smart power saving feature, which will help extend the battery life of devices. For now, this feature is still under development.

Even if all the new features mentioned in the article could perhaps not all be present in the future update, this one will still give a nice boost to ChromeOS. This at least shows that Google does not abandon its operating system and continues to think of its users.
