Chuck Lorre
Settlement in sitcom maker’s divorce
Chuck Lorre, the maker of sitcoms like “The Big Bang Theory,” has reached an agreement with his ex-partner about their divorce.
According to court documents, which are available to “People” magazine, Lorre is said to have paid a total of five million US dollars to his ex-partner, even if there was a prenuptial agreement. An amount of one million dollars is due upon execution of the judgment, the remainder within 30 days after Arielle Lorre has completely left the properties of the director, producer and screenwriter. No further spousal support will therefore be due.
The dog stays with him, but she has visitation rights
Real estate, clothing or even jewelry should also remain in the possession of the respective party. Chuck Lorre will also take care of Harvey, the couple’s dog. However, the 71-year-old’s former partner has “generous visiting rights”.
In addition, there is said to be a clause in the agreement between the two, according to which neither is allowed to denigrate the other – “neither in writing nor verbally, publicly or privately.” This also applies, among other things, to posts on social media, books and talk show appearances.
The former couple got married in the summer of 2022 after almost four years of marriage Statement to Variety made the separation public. “We have decided to separate with mutual consideration and respect,” it said at the time. They would move on in different directions, “but with great love, admiration and gratitude for the time we spent together.” It was the third marriage for the producer. Lorre was married to Paula Smith from 1979 to 1992, followed by a marriage to actress Karen Witter, 62, from 2001 to 2010. He has two children with Smith.
