Strong gusts of winds are expected from Wednesday evening until midday on Thursday: between 100 and 110km/h inland and between 120 and 140km/h on the coasts of Brittany and the Channel with locally peaks at 150km/h”precise Meteo France this Monday, October 30, 2023. From 8 p.m., this Wednesday, November 1, 2023, three departments will therefore be placed on violent wind orange alert. These are Morbihan, Finistère and Côtes-d’Armor. Strong winds: watch out for sea level

Strong winds will be accompanied by heavy rain in certain regions, such as Corsica, Thursday November 2, 2023 in the afternoon. According to Keraunosthe French observatory for tornadoes and storms, “Significant wave heights are expected to exceed 13 m in the Atlantic on Thursday morning.” Be careful if you live in the area. On the Channel coasts, the waves could reach between 6 and 8 m, while they will reach 8 to 10 m on the Atlantic coasts. And the trend could continue this weekend, with a possible second violent low-pressure phenomenon. “At the start of the day on Friday, a gale over the southwest quarter of the country is possible, but the uncertainty is significant at this stage. Saturday, a new gale is to watch out for over a good part of the country, accompanied by rains but the intensity of which still remains to be refined”explain Meteo France. A chain of storms caused in particular by what is called the “rail of depressions”, a meteorological phenomenon which feeds the forming depressions and increases their power.
