AlthoughIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (available on Blu-ray from €9.80 at Amazon.co.uk) does not have a special place in the hearts of the fans of the franchise, disney and lucasfilm have decided to re-enlist for a Indiana Jones 5, long overdue, but repeatedly postponed. The personalities attached to the project are already making you want, with James Mangold directing, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas and even John Rhys-Davies in the cast, alongside Harrison Ford of course.
This new production does not yet have an official title, but it is beginning to reveal itself on the occasion ofa file at Empire Magazine. IndianaJones makes the cover of the last issue with two illustrations (one showing the protagonist in his costume and an illustrated exclusive to subscribers, which does not represent a moment of the film), issue which reveals the first official images taken on the set, and especially the scenario of this feature film. It will run in 1969, 12 years later Indiana Jones 4in the middle of the space raceas the adventurer searches for an item that “could make the world a much better place to live in.”
Trouble, the villain Flyingcamped by Mads Mikkelsen, is also looking for this thing, he who is inspired by Wernher von Braun, Nazi engineer turned NASA. The story will mix “reality, fiction, fedoras and fascists”, taking us in particular in New York on August 13, 1969, as the city celebrates the return of astronauts fromApollo 11. A visual also shows a certain Klaber (Boyd Holbrook), henchman of Flyingtaken in the middle of the demonstration.
We still have a lot to discover on this Indiana Jones 5whose release date is set for June 30, 2023 in the United States, but it will probably be necessary to wait for the first trailer to learn more.
