It very frequently happens that films are shot under a “Working Title”, a provisional working title. Concern to protect the film from possible leaks or not, buzz… Some are even sometimes totally opposite to the very subject of the work, just to cover their tracks better.
They are therefore used for various reasons. For example, we think of the saga of James Bond films, always announced first with the number of the next dated part, like James Bond 22which will eventually be named Quantum of Solace.
Until a movie’s official title is announced as part of its release, release titles may also change due to significant plot changes during production, as happened with the title VO of the formidable DisneyKuzco, the megalomaniac emperor. Originally baptized Kingdom of the Sunit was changed to The Emperor’s New Groove.

Fake production titles are frequently used by highly anticipated movies or TV series to cover their tracks, as mentioned above. One of those most famous working titles is Return of the Jedi. Code name ? Blue Harvest.
By the time filming for the film began in 1982, Star Wars had become a huge cultural phenomenon. Lucasfilm decided to use this working title to hide the production of the film from fans and film journalists logically hungry for juicy information that could have leaked.
Blue Harvest was supposed to be a horror movie, even with its catchline: “Horror Beyond Imagination”. It was used everywhere (invoices, t-shirts worn by production, etc.) during the creation of the film, whose final title was still Revenge of the Jedi. Title which was itself changed by George Lucas when he realized that the concepts of revenge and revenge were foreign to a Jedi.
