Cinema quiz: in which film do we see this robbery?

Robberies of all kinds are legion in the cinema, as in “Italian robbery”, broadcast this evening on 6ter. And you, will you be able to identify these nine bank robbers, and these nine films?

It was in 2003 that F. Gary Gray’s Italian Stealing was released. The film tells the story of a band of burglars who manage to steal gold bars worth 35 million dollars.

But one of the members betrays his acolytes, killing one of them and leaving the others for dead. A year later, the latter will seek revenge by reclaiming the precious loot, and will call on a new recruit, Stella, an expert in opening safes. The film is a remake of a 1969 British film with the same original title (The Italian Job) but a different title in its French translation: L’or se barre.

If the director of the new version, F. Gary Gray, was not a very well known name at the time, he has since had the opportunity to participate in two big franchises of the last decades. We find him in the making of the eighth installment in the Fast and Furious series released in 2017, and two years later behind the camera of the film Men in Black: International.

In the casting, we find a nice line-up of Hollywood stars, with the presence of two actors accustomed to action films, Mark Wahlberg and Jason Statham. The woman who joins the group is played by a Charlize Theron on the verge of winning the Oscar for Best Actress with her next film Monster. And it’s Edward Norton who plays the role of Steve, the traitor who wanted to eliminate his former teammates without remorse.

The film is broadcast this evening on 6ter, and has given us the desire to offer you a quiz on these scenes of bank robberies, numerous in the history of cinema. Unfortunately for you, the robbers are often masked. So will you be able to recognize these nine films?
