While the DC Extended Universe comes to an end with the recent release of The Flash and the one at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in December (a film Blue Beetle a priori unrelated to the universe is planned), DC Studios can now fully focus on its new projects directed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. A lot of feature films and series are planned, and the first cornerstone of this reboot film adaptations, which will begin with the arc Chapter 1: Gods and Monsterswill be a movie Superman: Legacydirected by James Gunn himself.
The question burning fans’ lips was who would play the famous clark kent And Lois Lane in this story of their youth. After Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder, Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher, Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk or even Henry Cavill and Amy Adams, the new duo of actors has just been formalized: it will be David Corenswet (Pearl, The Politician) and Rachel Brosnahan (The Fabulous Mrs. Maisel, House of Cards). If the second has already proven itself on the small screen, the first, whose false airs with Henry Cavill and the square face already delight some, is a more daring choice.
Whether Superman: Legacy reached the popularity of man of steel and his successors, this casting choice is likely to change the destiny of their careers. The release date of the feature film is set for July 11, 2025 in US theaters. Until then, The Flash is available for pre-order on Blu-ray from €24.99 at Amazon.co.uk ahead of its October 18 release.
