Citroën intends to develop a new range called Holidays, the details of which will be specified at the end of the year. Vehicles dedicated to freedom of movement, a value that the French brand makes its own, and which it intends to embody through “practical, ingenious and accessible vehicles, synonymous with escape and leisure”. The “Van Life” today represents a market of 90,000 new vehicles per year in Europe, ie half of the overall leisure vehicle market. These models can, thanks to their height of less than 2 meters, access almost all car parks.
All modern comforts
At the base of the Type Holidays, the Spacetourer, a modern model which is offered today in particular with a 100% electric engine. We find all the qualities of this bestseller: roominess, comfort, quiet operation, presence of two sliding side doors… Here it is dressed in the mythical Type H, nicknamed “Tube”, a corrugated iron van born in 1948 and produced until in 1981. An exceptional longevity if ever there was one. The body elements are here coated in the iconic gray for an even more advanced wink.
On the equipment side, everything would have been planned to allow four people to escape comfortably thanks to an arrangement made for Citroën by the Slovenian company Bravia Mobil.
There is thus a pop-up roof that allows adults to stand up in the vehicle and to house a bed for two people. The second row bench converts into a second bed, also for two people. It hides a large storage box. The front seats are mounted on swivel bases to create a space with two seats facing each other around a folding table provided for meals or for work. Type Holidays offers a full kitchen with cooking area, sink and refrigerator. In winter, the occupants will appreciate a Webasto autonomous heating.
