“There have already been talks within the city,” was the message yesterday at the second division 3: 1 in Steyr regarding the stadium plans. And: “Right after Easter, an appointment should also be made between the club and politicians.” That’s a good thing, because the latter has let the stadium be the stadium for almost decades, which has created an infrastructure problem that is now getting bigger, more urgent and also more expensive. And above all, the traditional club cannot solve it alone. But how much top-class football has been and still is worth to the city of Steyr is also shown by the fact that SK Forward only receives a subsidy of 1850 euros per year.
