The judge having refused to study the request for release of Claude Guéant before January 19, 2022, the former Minister of the Interior will spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve behind bars.
Information linked by Europe 1 confirms that Claude Guéant will not regain his freedom before at least mid-January 2022. Jailed last Monday for not having advanced enough in his repayments, Claude Guéant has since settled all of his debt through loans from relatives.
The former Minister of the Interior of Nicolas Sarkozy, was sentenced in 2017 to the payment of 190,000 euros. A debt to the Public Treasury that he had reimbursed up to 36% at the time of his imprisonment in the prison of Health.
