France 3 broadcasts Saturday, February 12 at 9:10 p.m. a new episode of the Font collection where Clémentine Célarié, alias Louise Poquelin, leads the investigation. Confidences of a woman of convictions.
The plot is set against the backdrop of animal suffering. How does this cause affect you?
Clementine Celarie: All suffering touches me. But this is not the central subject of the plot. We shot this summer in the North, it was a great meeting with the farmers. We had to scare the cows, but it was great.
Does your character, a strong woman, look like you?
She has more courage than me. And more authority: when you’re a cop, it helps. She is borderline (sic) like me. She is human. To prepare for this role, I met a great police chief. She explained to me that she wanted to do this job to do good.
Other episodes of Font are they planned?
Not at the moment. The stage is a drug for me. The cinema has also become one. I just made my first film, Peter and Joan, according to Maupassant. And I resumed my tour at the theater with A life, de Maupassant as well.
Why didn’t you speak out about the death of Jean-Jacques Beineix, who got you started 37°2 in the morning ?
I was very sad, I didn’t feel like whining on the phone. He was an important man in my professional and personal life. He offered me a crazy role… which weighed on me, because I passed for the nymphomaniac on duty. But as I got older, I didn’t care.
Florent Pagny revealed to suffer from lung cancer. In Forbidden Words (Albin Michel), you mention your colon cancer. A reaction ?
Good if he did. We need to talk about it. My book is not about illness, but about getting back to basics when it happens to you. I say that I wanted to project myself into the future: I visualized the public that was waiting for me. And it did me good. It was like a medicine that I made myself.
Your recently deceased father lived in an nursing home. What do you think of the controversy born of the book The Gravediggers (Fayard) on the practices of some of these establishments?
This was not the case for him, but the fate reserved for the elderly in certain establishments is shameful. We don’t take the time they need. When I was in the hospital myself, I saw very dedicated nurses. There are people who want to do well, but they are not given the means.
