According to Roth, around 7.5 million vehicles are currently running on fossil fuels in Austria. If only ten percent eFuel is added, 750,000 vehicles would be CO2-neutral, the entrepreneur calculated. The entire existing fleet could run on the synthetic fuel, so nobody would have to buy or convert a new vehicle. The facility in Graz is intended to show that production is affordable and compatible with the location, “only then will it be copied,” says Roth. The production is based on 100 percent Austrian know-how and “it could become an export hit,” he enthused. The aim is to offer a liter of eFuel for less than one euro.
