Clothing stolen – employee and customer caught shoplifter in Graz

Shortly after two shopliftings on Saturday morning, a 36-year-old Armenian was arrested by the police in Graz. The man is also likely to be responsible for another theft in Salzburg about a month ago.

An employee of a clothing store on Stubenberggasse in Graz observed the 36-year-old stealing a jacket around 11 a.m., after which the alleged thief fled. Together with a customer, the employee was able to stop the Armenian shortly afterwards. As it turned out, the suspect was also carrying another stolen jacket. He was also wearing stolen pants that still had the anti-theft device on. “The jacket came from a theft today, the suspect stole the pants about a month ago in a shop in Salzburg,” the police said. Since the suspect did not have an upright view of his home, he was arrested. The man will be reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Graz.
