(Boursier.com) — Chairwoman of CNP Seguros holding Brasil since January 2021, Asma Baccar has also been appointed director of the Latin America business unit from October 1, 2022. She will sit on the executive committee of CNP Assurances and will succeed Laurent Jumelle, the latter having wished to devote himself to other professional projects outside the group.
Brazil’s third-largest insurer, CNP Assurances has been present in Brazil since 2001. On September 14, the Group announced an operation enabling it to accelerate its multi-partner development in Brazil by relying on 2 distribution models:
– An open model allowing to operate with different partners through the acquisition of 100% of Caixa Seguridade’s and Icatu’s stakes in CNP Seguros Participações, Previsul, Odonto, CNP Consorcios and CNP Capitalizaçao.
– An exclusive distribution partnership with Caixa Econômica Federal, renewed respectively until 2046 and 2041, within Caixa Vida e Previdência (individual and group pension products, consumer and provident borrower insurance) and Caixa Consórcio (consórcios activity).
In total, 1,500 employees work in Latin America, mainly in Brazil and Argentina.
