Cobra Kai Season 4: Terry Silver’s ‘Old Friends’ – Will we see these characters from ‘The Karate Kid 3’ again in Season 5?

• This is probably Mike Barnes and his friends from “The Karate Kid 3” who will make life difficult for Daniel in Season 5.

Karate Kid 3 may be the weakest installment in the cult franchise starring Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi, but for season 4 and upcoming season 5 of Cobra Kai, it still makes sense to see the film seen from 1989.

While knowing the first ‘The Karate Kid’ movie was quite enough for the first two seasons of the Netflix series, the events of the second movie play a role in season 3 when Daniel travels to Okinawa. With the arrival of Terry Silver in season 4, the 3rd film takes on new relevance and so season 5 seems to continue, as Silver himself hints at in the finale.

It’s likely that Cobra Kai showrunners Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg will want all of the major characters from the films to appear in the series. That doesn’t always have to result in recurring starring roles, Season 3 just brought back Elisabeth Shue and Tamlyn Tomita as Daniel’s past love affairs for brief appearances.

Meanwhile, however, there aren’t many characters left to bring back in Season 5. But the return of three characters from “Karate Kid 3” seems certain. These are Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan), Dennis (William Christopher Ford) and Snake (Jonathan Avildsen).

Barnes was Daniel’s adversary as the karate bad boy in “Karate Kid 3”, Dennis and Snake formed his nasty entourage. While fans of the series are unlikely to clamor for a return of Barnes’ monosyllabic henchmen, Barnes himself is a worthwhile addition for Season 5 as Terry Silver now needs new cold-blooded teachers for the Cobra Kai dojos.

Filming for Season 5 of “Cobra Kai” has already wrapped up, so no more leaks showing cast member Sean Kanan or other returnees on set are to be expected. So we’ll probably have to wait for a trailer for Season 5, then at the earliest we’ll know if Daniel will meet other former enemies.
