Coffee on the big screen with the Siemens EQ900 automatic coffee maker

Siemens wants to seduce coffee lovers with the new EQ900. The manufacturer therefore goes into overdrive and equips its automatic coffee maker with a 2.3 l water tank and two bean bins, each with its own ceramic grinder. It is then possible to vary the pleasures by choosing sometimes a coffee, sometimes the second. The multiple recipes integrated into the machine and the coffeeWorld interface, allowing you to discover coffees from all over the world, also offer a variety of drinks.

But the EQ900 makes no mistake. The beanIdent technology adapts the drink settings according to the type of coffee beans contained in the machine. The user can effectively indicate whether it is a lightly or heavily roasted coffee, for example.

A large screen to simplify use

To choose his coffee recipe, the user must go through the 6.8 inch touch screen against 5 inches for the previous model, the EQ700. This equipment makes the EQ900 an imposing device with 40 cm high, 47 cm deep and 31.5 cm wide. Anyway, the screen allows the user to access all the options of the machine, customizable at will. Indeed, no less than 10 profiles can be created, each with the preferences and settings desired by the user.

To go further, the Siemens EQ900 offers to personalize all the coffee settings thanks to the baristaMode. The user then controls the quantity of water, the temperature of the drink, its intensity, the coffee/milk ratio or even the infusion speed.

For those who want a little sweetness, a 0.7 l milk container is integrated into the coffee maker. It is removable and can be placed in the refrigerator between two milk drinks. To facilitate its maintenance, Siemens has provided a cleaning system, called autoMilk Clean. Thanks to the injection of steam, the pipe of the milk carafe is properly cleaned after each use.

Finally, Siemens wanted the EQ900 connected. The coffee machine then completes a little more the Home Connect ecosystem, which allows the group’s household appliances to interact. The user can control his machine via the mobile app or through the voice assistants Alexa and Google.

All these technologies have a price: the EQ900 is indeed offered at 2299 €.
