VS’is an old road safety slogan: “On long journeys, a break is in order. ” But it was the secretary general of the CFDT who brought it up to date on Tuesday: “It would be madness on the part of those who govern us not to take a break”, declared Laurent Berger on France Inter. A madness ? Perhaps it should not be overstated. Especially since this claim is not new. It has been made many times over the past few weeks. But the proposal he made, with the consent of the inter-union, deserves to be heard: mediation, to break the impasse.

It was received in different ways by the presidential majority. Rather warmly by the Modem, which is considering a way out of the lasting political and social crisis. More…
