The British mega band Coldplay is in big trouble. Dave Holmes, their manager for 22 years until last year, has now sued the band.

Always new superlatives in terms of sales, viewership and popularity ratings. The four members of the British band Coldplay have risen to become sheer superheroes in the pop world thanks to their mega-successful and recently extended “Music of the Spheres” world tour, which has been going on since March 2022. Now, a surprising legal battle with a longtime collaborator may shake the band’s foundations for success. Her former manager Dave Holmes is suing her over contract disputes, as reported by the “Daily Mail”.

Lawsuit in the midst of the mega-successful tour

Dave Holmes is not just anyone for the band: He managed the band for a whopping 22 years and made a significant contribution to leading it to the top of the world among the bands in the pop-rock genre. Holmes took over as manager from Coldplay creative director Phil Harvey in 2001. The band and Holmes are said to have split up twelve months ago – after more than two decades of successful collaboration and an eventful band history. A team led by Phil Harvey has been in charge again since 2022.

Holmes was not only a manager, he was also a soul support for Chris Martin (46). Photos showed how he built up the singer after he split from Gwyneth Paltrow (50) in 2016 in order to be able to go on stage at all. Now the argument – Coldplay will probably have to prepare for a longer dispute with the former successful partner.

The British mega-band had just announced the extension of their super-successful world tour, with which they have so far delighted 5.8 million fans all over the world. On July 20th and 21st, 2024, Coldplay will be performing in the “Merkur Spiel-Arena” in Düsseldorf, on August 15th and 17th, 2024 they will be guests in the Munich Olympic Stadium. Full stadiums and enthusiastic fans are guaranteed. The news of the lawsuit brought by the band’s former manager, Dave Holmes, before a British court doesn’t fit into the harmonious picture at all. Further details of the lawsuit are not yet known.
