Colin Kaepernick: Documentary series about him comes to Disney

Former NFL quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick has signed a contract with Disney.

Former NFL quarterback and activist Colin Kaepernick (32) hires at Disney. The 32-year-old is said to have signed a so-called first-look agreement with the entertainment giant. This is reported, among others, by the US celebrity portal "TMZ". A documentary series is said to be in progress.

Accordingly, the documentary should focus on the life of the athlete in the past five years. According to a message from Disney, quoted from "TMZ", Kaepernick should tell the "story from his point of view" in a mixture of interviews and archive material.

Kaepernick released after protesting racism

Kaepernick caused a scandal in 2016 by kneeling before a game of the national anthem to protest racism and police violence against blacks. A heated and protracted debate broke out in the United States in particular. Kaepernick was released after the end of the 2016 season by his team, the San Francisco 49ers. So far, he has not been signed by any other NFL team.

The documentary should not be limited to Kaepernick's career. The partly scripted, partly true episodes should also focus on the stories of other dark-skinned directors and producers in order to offer them a platform in the fight for equality.
