Collision – car driver overlooked cyclist: seriously injured


A 71-year-old car driver may have overlooked a cyclist (23) and knocked her down in an intersection area in Graz. The young woman had to be hospitalized with serious injuries.

Today around 9.15 a.m., the car driver drove west on Ragnitzstrasse in the Ries district of Graz and wanted to turn left at the intersection with Riesstrasse.

At the same time, the 23-year-old steered her bike south on Riesstrasse and intended to turn left at the intersection with Ragnitzstrasse. The car driver is likely to have overlooked the 23-year-old. The cyclist was seriously injured in the subsequent collision. The Red Cross provided first aid at the accident site and delivered the 23-year-old to the Graz regional hospital.
