Samsung is working on a new price-performance hit, and the first pictures of it are already circulating online. The cell phone could soon be available to buy at Aldi and Lidl.
Anyone who browses through the Aldi and Lidl brochures will have seen the Galaxy A04s there more often. The affordable Samsung smartphone was available several times at both discounters in 2023. But now a successor, the A05s, is in the starting blocks. The first pictures of this are already circulating online.
The source for these is the usually well-informed leaker OnLeaks. He came into possession of construction drawings of the cell phone and created renderings based on them and published them on the MySmartPrice website. You show the cell phone from all sides.
This is new compared to the Galaxy A04s
Visually, little has changed. Samsung continues to use a tear-shaped notch in the display. The screen itself is said to have grown slightly from 6.5 to 6.6 inches. OnLeaks also claims to have found out two other innovations from documents from the US regulatory authority FCC. The battery capacity should be reduced from 5,000 milliamperes hours (mAh) to 4,000 mAh. The charging speed should increase from 15 to 25 watts.
The design drawings also provide evidence that the power switch on the side could also function as a fingerprint sensor. Until now you had to do without such a sensor in the Galaxy A0 series.
Samsung could unveil the Galaxy A05 in the next few weeks. The predecessor appeared in 2022 at the end of August. The first discounter offers for the model can be expected a little later. We estimate the price to be under 150 euros.
