Commuters 2 trailer on Netflix: Kery James reveals the rest of his 2019 box

Three years after the success of the first installment, Netflix and Kery James unveil the trailer for Banlieusards 2, which marks the return of the siblings.

Three years is the time it took Kery James and Leïla Sy to write, shoot and release Banlieusards 2. In 2019, the first film met with great success in France and around the world.

The committed rapper told us the story of a sibling whose members each took a different path: law student for one, notorious criminal for the other, when the youngest was still looking for his direction.

These are the three characters that we find in the trailer for Banlieusards 2. And they have all evolved since then. Dembe, who survived the gunfight at the end of the first film, seems to have turned back – even though he’s being dogged by his old demons. Soulaymaan became a barrister. As for Noumouké, he seems to have taken the same path as his older brother.

The synopsis of this second part and the images unveiled above suggest that this sequel will be much darker and more violent than the previous one: “Struggling to get out of a daily life of betrayal, revenge and violence in a Parisian suburb , the Traoré brothers continue to fight for a better future.”

On the casting side, Kery James, Jammeh Diangana and Bakary Diombera will be back. Among the new faces of Banlieusards 2, we recognize in particular that of Alessandra Sublet. With this role, the former presenter once again confirms her desire to move into fiction.

The film is due out on Netflix on September 27.
