Saint-Gobain has signed an agreement to sell its regional glass processing business Baltiklaas O in Estonia Polar Glass O, a subsidiary of Barrus AS, the largest producer of glued laminated timber in Estonia and supplier to window manufacturers and doors. The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed. Baltiklaas O employs more than 200 people on two sites, located Tartu and Mo, and generated a turnover of around 25 million euros in 2021.
Saint-Gobain recalls that this transaction follows several disposals carried out since 2018 in its glass processing activities in Europe for a total turnover of approximately 300 million euros.
This operation is part of the continuation of the strategy to optimize the group’s profile, in line with the objectives of the “Grow & Impact” plan. It is subject to the approval of the competent Competition Authority and should be finalized in the coming weeks.
