Completely skeletonized – forest ranger finds body with weapon near hiking trail

A fully skeletonized body was discovered on Monday by a forester above a hiking trail on the south side of Lake Grundlsee (Styria). The police were immediately alerted.

“A long gun was found next to the body,” the LPD Styria said on Thursday. The investigation began immediately. Lying in the forest for over two years, the autopsy of the body showed that the man was around 1.65 meters to 1.75 meters tall when he was alive. He is also said to have been over 30 years old at the time of death. He may have been at the location where he was found for more than two years. Police are asking for information. According to the police, suicide cannot be ruled out. The identity of the body has not yet been determined. Possible information should be sent to the Bad Aussee police station (059133/6351-0) or to the journal service of the Styrian State Criminal Police Office (059133/60-3333).
