Compliance of the iPhone 12, bug fixes, new functions… iOS 17.1 is finally here!

iOS 17.1 is available and provides, among other things, the corrective patch reducing the wave emissions of theiPhone 12.

After a short month of beta, the iOS 17.1 update is now available in stable version to all users equipped with an iPhone compatible with iOS 17. While this is a minor update, the improvements are still quite substantial.

The iPhone 12 is no longer outlawed

In France, the iPhone 12 was in the sights of the National Frequency Agency (ANFR) because of a member DAS that was too high. With iOS 17.1, the waves emitted by the smartphone are less powerful and hit the nails.

Note that France is not the only country in which users benefit from an exclusive new feature following this update. In the UK, it is now possible to view your bank balance in Apple Wallet (for compatible banks) thanks to support for the Open Banking API.

iOS 17.1 also includes a feature that was planned as early as iOS 17, but could not be integrated in time: the ability to continue file transfers with AirDrop through a cellular connection when both devices are connected go out of range of the Wi-Fi network.

Apple Music in the spotlight

Then we have a whole host of improvements, optimizations and bug fixes for the system and native applications as well as a few new features to get your teeth into. We are thinking, for example, of adding favorites in Apple Music (songs, albums, artists and playlists) to improve its recommendations. In addition, a long press on the app icon on the home screen will launch a playlist containing your titles marked as favorites.

We also find the appearance of an indication on the Dynamic Island when the flashlight is turned on for iPhones which did not already have this capability, or the possibility of choosing a photo album to display for the lock screen.
