Driven by artificial intelligence (AI), the technology is at a “tipping point”, Nvidia boss Jensen Huang said Monday at the Computex technology show in Taiwan. He was showcasing a set of artificial intelligence (AI) related products in his first public address in four years.

“I haven’t given a public speech in four years. Wish me luck!”launched the boss of Nvidia in front of a compact audience. “We have now reached the tipping point of a new computing era”he pointed out.

Among the new products on show at Computex is an artificial intelligence supercomputer platform called the DGX GH200, which he says is now “in full production”. “We are delighted that Google Cloud, Meta and Microsoft are the first companies in the world to have access to it”he added.

According to Jensen Huang, this platform is intended to allow “exploratory research on the pioneering front, the limits of artificial intelligence”. In theory, the new supercomputer will help tech companies create more AI-related products, which require more complex computing tasks.

Nearly $1 trillion valuation on the Nasdaq

The Taiwanese-American manufacturer, whose electronic chips have been highly sought after since the artificial intelligence boom, saw its stock market value jump 25% overnight to almost a trillion dollars last week, after quarterly results boosted by demand, which far exceeded expectations.

Founded 30 years ago by Jensen Huang, Nvidia is known for creating graphics chips sought after in video games, which later became the engines of complex processes involved in artificial intelligence, known as accelerated computing. Its chips, a central ingredient in the generative AI revolution, are found in the hardware needed to deliver complex content in seconds from data centers around the world.
