The corona crisis hit the cultural industry with full force. Will participation in concerts be tied to vaccination in the future?

The art, culture and events scene, which has been badly affected by the corona pandemic, is understandably looking for ways out of the gloomy situation. A concert promoter is now causing a stir with food for thought. “If there is enough vaccine and everyone can get vaccinated, then private-sector organizers should also have the option of having a vaccination as a prerequisite for access to events”, “WirtschaftsWoche” quotes the CEO of the event organizer CTS Eventim, Klaus-Peter Schulenberg.

From the technological side, therefore, Schulenberg sees no problem for an “entry requirement for events”. “We have set up our systems in such a way that they can also read vaccination cards,” the business magazine continues. “The faster the population is vaccinated, the faster events can take place again.”

But does that mean that a concert in Corona times will soon only be possible for vaccinated people? When asked by spot on news, the all-clear is expressly given: “It is wrong that CTS Eventim wants to tie participation in concerts and events to a vaccination against the corona virus,” said the press office.

Angela Merkel: “If you don’t want that …”

Chancellor Angela Merkel (66) had also given a thoughtful expression on the subject of freedom for vaccinated people in a television interview on Tuesday evening: “I think if we later offered a lot of people a vaccination and then some people say we don’t have to be vaccinated, then some people say, I don’t want to be vaccinated, then maybe you have to make such differences and say: Okay, if you don’t want that, you may not be able to do certain things. ”

The corona crisis hit the culture and events industry with full force. Since March 2020, more and more concerts and tours have been postponed or canceled.
