Scholz: We are united by the desire to leave
SPD, Greens and FDP are taking a big step on the way to a traffic light coalition. All three would have the idea that there has to be a departure in Germany, says SPD Chancellor candidate Scholz in an interview with ntv. He also gives an outlook on the financing of major projects.
SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz praised the cooperation with the FPD and the Greens in an interview with ntv after the end of the exploratory talks. You don’t just want to conduct professional negotiations, said Scholz. They also want to govern well afterwards. “And we want to do it so well that we will be re-elected.” This can be achieved if you work together and jointly ensure that the right decisions for the future of the country are made.
All three parties would unite the idea that “we need a new start in Germany, that we have to organize progress in our society so that we can live well in 10, 20, 30 years,” said the SPD top candidate. The departure is expected to go hand in hand with a massive expansion of renewable energies at sea and on land. Scholz said they wanted to become a “gigabit society” and efficient with modern mobility. “We want to support companies in investing in a climate-friendly, climate-neutral economy.” All of this is possible and will “enable us to have a great decade of growth”.
When it comes to financing all of these projects, the SPD, FDP and the Greens are relying primarily on higher tax revenues through more economic growth. They looked at the situation very carefully, said Scholz in an interview with ntv. “We will also have even better incomes because economic growth is back from the many measures we have taken to combat the pandemic.” Scholz emphasized: “It is important to us that we bring about relief for those who earn little. Above all, that wages get better.” The increase in the minimum wage brings an increase in income for ten million citizens.
