Two Palestinian teenagers were shot and killed in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, the Palestinian health ministry said, with the Israeli army claiming to have shot the first after he threw a firebomb at soldiers.
The Palestinian ministry announced shortly after the death of a second teenager, “affected by a live ammunition in the chest” fired “by the Israeli army”, during a clash following the arrest of a person in the village of Silwad near the city of Ramallah (center), which also injured six.
A military operation near Bethlehem
Israeli forces killed the first teenager during a military operation against Husan, a village near the city of Bethlehem in the southern occupied West Bank, the Palestinian ministry said in a statement. The victim was named Qusaï Hamamra, 16 years old, according to the municipal council of Husan.
The second teenager killed in Silwad, was called Amer Elyan and was 18 years old according to locals.
The Israeli army for its part indicated that “a suspect threw a Molotov cocktail at soldiers in the locality of Husan” and that the soldiers responded by firing “live ammunition to stop the immediate threat”.
This morning, a Palestinian lawyer was killed in Nablus on the sidelines of an operation by Israeli forces who say they are tracking suspects in the occupied West Bank linked to recent attacks in the Tel Aviv metropolis.
