In August 2023, household consumption expenditure on goods in France reached 45.6 billion euros, down 0.5% compared to the previous month, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Statistics. economic studies (Insee) published at 8:45 a.m. Over one year, consumption therefore decreased by 1.9% (46.5 billion euros in August 2022).

Consumer spending on goods represents around half of total household consumption spending, which also includes services.
